Thanks!
Maybe I need to get back into pixel art. Draw the exact same things I've already drawn in the past... but smaller.
I have actually considered drawing some of my characters in sort of the same style/size as Pokemon sprites on occasion, because the second generation Pokemon games were my jam and I'm still oddly nostalgic for Crystal Version--I put so much time into that game that I had the time played maxed at 999:59 and still played it for like a year, and I legit cried a few less-than-manly tears when the cartridge finally died, and I was in my late teens when that happened...

True, I know a couple other people (not active here, sadly) that do pixel stuff, but BIG.
I usually associate pixel art with small things though, probably because when I think "pixels" I think, like, little sprites and icons and maybe Minecraft textures and skins. Then again I wouldn't call 500-600px "huge", if I'm being honest.
Yeah my cart dying was actually oddly devastating, and that was kinda the end of me playing Pokemon for a long-ass time (I did end up eventually playing Pokemon Pearl and putting a hundred or so hours into it as well, but that was the last Pokemon game I played as my interests had shifted towards other things by then), but that was also around the time I started drawing more and gaming less. I know I mentioned Digimon as one of my major influences, but Pokemon was just as major! I think the size of the Pokemon battle sprites in the first couple gens were only 32x32 or something super tiny like that, so I'm actually super impressed with the level of detail they could manage to pack in sometimes... even though the Red/Blue sprites were super wonky sometimes lmao.
Pixels honestly frustrate me quite a bit which is probably why I find pixel art so interesting, but I'd love to actually get good at it sometime.

idk why my pixels became so large, but the small kinds have such a nice aesthetic~
when it gets to be that small EVERY pixel plays such a big part! gotta make sure it has detail, while still being easily readable from a distance. I do know it's fun to take existing pokemon pixel sprites and modifying them :b
like, to turn them into OCs or pokefusions
the process of making them is tedious af, let alone ANIMATING them. I really dont know how people do sprite animations!?
