Marche Funèbre D'Une Marionnette [ANIMATED!]

One more excercise in animation, I tried to do a simple dance, inspired by a looping gif i found on the interwebz.
The title is due to the musical version, which you can watch here with the famous musical theme by Charles Gounod: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachme....._-_WIP_045.mp4
took me 18 hours to produce this thing... it lacks anticipation, squash, and followthrough, also appears to be weightless. Yay! 🤦♂️
I... MAY revise it in the future, not sure about it. But i could.
The music is the wikipedia version https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funer.....f_a_Marionette used here in accordance to "Fair Use" guidelines of transformative work. No copyright is claimed for the music used.

Hah! Oh, I love the shift from human to avian leg configuration mid-step in this dance.
While not quite as graceful as I imagined (hey, CG animation is hard, I totally get it.), it's still a joy to see her dancing, and in 3D no less! She still looks as appealing as I hoped she would moving.
Now I am gonna give some thought to how "shapeshifting" could be used in dances, such as expanding a hand into a wing to serve as a concealing fan... hmm...

it... was supposed to be in time.... buuut i suck.
After 18 hours of trying to adapt a stupid eevee dance to my robot i just flipped the inputs in reverse, called it a day, and slapped the music to it... because actually timing the music to the dance made my head hurt. Last time it took me about 5 hours to do it on the Philafelis thing and i only had one barely free sunday.
Here the beat is not even at all like i managed to achieve for the Philafelis thing, but then the animation itself was not how i liked it... she not only feels weightless... she is missing a lot of micromovements i wanted to add. Sooo yeah.
And leet's not speak of the horrible "screensaver movement across the screen" where she slides around up and down because i did not pay enough attention to the overlapping of the images...
In any case the 3d model is due an overhaul in a few weeks, so this was the "funeral march" for this version of the 3d model. 😅
The puppet is broken, might as well give it an ending with a tiny bit of style.

Looks like I found someone who can finally understand me. I refuse to do art because I'm also a perfeccionist and I can never quite reach the level of dynamism/expression that I want in my pieces. It's really fucking frustrating. I know art is one of those things you only get better by practicing, but still... it's a pain. I've been trying to get into drawing since 2012 and I think I finished like what? 30 pieces tops? It's awful.
What I can say however is that your animation is solid. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's solid.

I know what you mean. I'm always either studying and working or doing 2-3 jobs at the same time. When I rarely get free time I really don't wanna spend on learning how to do something that's gonna take over 1000 to get somewhat decent. I just want to relax.
I'll say again however - you do a pretty solid job. I really liked the way you animated Philomela here. :> I don't think your animation lacks anticipation, but it does lack follow-through and weight. Weight is very, very hard to animate
