What's that! Oooohhhh~ It looks like your favorite flower wolf has a new story for you! And it looks like I finally made a story for a 'holiday; on time! And before anyone says Shark Week is a week long event, that means I'm technically still on time! If only every other holiday was a week long, than I would never miss the holidays!I wanted to make a story for Shark Week, so I wrote this up in a few hours! It was just going to be about a tiger shark that swims through the ocean, but I thought that was too 'normal', so I gave her a husbando! That makes it fun!I hope you all enjoy this! It's a short story, but I'm still really proud of how it came out, and the decisions I decided to take with it! I might write up something else bigger for Shark Week, but that remains to be seen. If you have any criticisms, like how the tiger shark should have natural colors, or how I need to stop being such a talented writer, then leave them in the comments! I respond to everything! I'm just a freak like that!Enjoy the story!Tiger Shark SerenityYou surge through the water, not a care in the world. Your slick body moving through the water like a bullet, slicing through the depths of the ocean, leaving a trail of bubbles behind you. Your sleek skin glimmers as you swim faster and faster, trying to go as fast as possible. You had a lot going on in your life, but the sea was where you found peace. It helped you organize your thoughts, and really think about everything that is happening. You don’t know whether it was the calming atmosphere of the water, or the glimmer of the sun as it hits the surface of the water, leaving a brilliant glow on the water, and illuminating everything underneath, providing a calmness that cannot be explained.
You swim towards the water’s surface, before your body pierces the top of the water, showing off your shining green back, along with the dark green stripes that run parallel along your back. This pattern runs all the way up to your pointed snout, where the coloration stops at the bridge of your nose, where a white streak runs down the front of your body, crossing over your ample chest, and trails all the way to your crotch. Your gills sitting proudly on your neck, helping you breathe underwater. You have strong arms, having been swimming professionally for your whole life built up your muscles, making your journey through the ocean that much more fun. You have a set of dorsal fins on each of your arms, which helps you cut through the water, and cuts down on the friction low below the surface of the ocean, letting you shoot through the water like a torpedo. Your tail sways behind you, the cold air causing it to lightly flap, the crescent moon on the end of your tail providing a beautiful view of your toned backside, as your body sails through the air.
You tilt your arms back downward, before your hands breach the surface tension of the water, causing a large splash, and sending countless amounts of ripples through the water. You blast through the water, piercing through the ocean like a harpoon, heading no where in particular. You were always able to find your way back, no matter how far you went out into the ocean. You dart through the water, speeding up as you lunge at a school of feral fish, snapping one in your jaws, and sending the rest of the vibrant yellow fish scrambling away from you. You pick up the pace again as you look down at all of the vibrant corals lining the ocean floor, illuminating the sea floor with colorful pinks and blues, shining along as you pass over them, seeing the massive amount of fish going about their day, swimming along with their families. From angel fish to clownfish, every type of color imaginable was swimming under you, giving the ocean a breath-taking look. What you would do if you could see this view every day.
Your mind wanders to your husband, back at home, probably working away at his phone, like usual. Your marriage had been going through a rough patch over the last few months, leaving the both of you separate and distant from each other. He would do everything to make you happy, but you needed something new and exciting! Not the same old junk he always wants to do! If only you could make his see what you want!
You let out a heavy sigh, not noticing as you were just drifting through the waters, the bad thoughts having distracted you long enough to cause you to stop your swimming. You start paddling your feet and tail, picking up speed as you start racing along again. Trying to block out the ideas of your husband and his problems. You had been married for five years, and yet he still clings you like a lost puppy. What happened to what we used to have? We used to have so much fun walking along the beach and sharing in each other’s love, never wanting the other to leave. What caused us to drift apart? Was it the competitions? Was it his job? Was it…
You are snapped out of your trance as you hear the sound of a billowing horn, breaching the surface of the water to see a boat leave a dock. You see as furs mill around the decks of the dock, moving packing containers and storage crates onto the barge. They move with such fluid movements, moving containers and crates with easy precision, furs of all size moving stuff from the docks onto the giant barge.
You take this as a sign to start heading back, having reached the opposite side of the small expanse of water before you, probably only being a few miles wide. You penetrate the surface of the water, and jet back towards the direction from where you came, your body easily slicing through the water, and making sure any fish knew to get out of your way.
Your mind can’t help but drift to your husband again. You had a few amazing years, but everything just seemed so much less important than it was before. He always pestered you about going on dates, but you don’t like the same food he does. Every now and then, he would try something different, but you never wanted to do any of it. Doesn’t he know you? He looks at me with wonder in his eyes, but there are times where I don’t feel the same. He always tried to put you ahead of him. He says he loves you every night… He… loves me unconditionally…
…Could it be your fault?
My mind hops to all the good times we had, from swimming in our pool, to just walking along the sand of the beach, hand in hand as we just enjoy each other’s company. I had been signing up for more competitions over the past year. His job took a dip in sales and business, so I tried to pick up the slack from where he was losing money. This meant I was away from home a lot, leaving him all alone. He would attend as many competitions as he could, trying to support you. But I never acknowledged him at any of them. I would always blow him off, not wanting to be embarrassed by his perky attitude. I would blow off any date ideas he had, saying they were stupid and uninteresting. I would only ever think of myself when shopping, when he would bring me small adorable gifts whenever he went out. All little trinkets, but they were still cute all the same... And yet… He still loved and clung to you…
It really was your fault, wasn’t it?
…But what could you do to make it better?
You sigh heavily, bubbles escaping from your pointed snout and breaching the surface of the water, causing tiny ripples to appear where you were swimming. You look down at the ocean again, and see the most vibrant colors you have seen all day. From vibrant greens, to extraordinary pinks, to even stupendous light blues, lighting up the ocean floor, and leaving a whole palette of colors dancing across the ocean floor. If only you could frame this moment. You take in the view once more, before turning back towards the way home.
You race along the cool water, feeling at peace as everything around you seems perfect. From fish families swimming along, to different species of fish coexisting in a perfect environment, living in a perfect world underwater.
…
Wait a minute!
That’s what you can do!
Your husband and you met on the bank of the beach! Maybe if you prepare a date for just the two of you, things will start to improve between the both of you! It probably won’t instantaneously fix your marriage, but it will help put it in the right direction!
And if I finally accept some of his date ideas, maybe we can start making things like they used to be! We could attend my competitions together! He would be my rock again!
We could finally be happy again.
Together.
You swim the rest of the way through the calm waters of the ocean, the ocean taking on a whole new vibrant look. Every color popped out to you now. From the brightest of blues to the subtlest of greens. Everything had a whole new light to it, colors shining against the dark ocean floor, causing a brilliant serenity to appear before your eyes, every color complimenting another, as you speed toward the shore, with a plan in mind.
You will make this marriage work. You don’t know how long or if it will be okay in the end, but you were tired of making everything about you. It was time to act. And that’s what lead you home, towards your always loving husband, with you determined to fix your broken marriage. No matter what it did to you.
It’s time this relationship was about him for a change.
