Ah yes, the good old days, when all the furries at a con could fit into a single room for a party! Wish I'd managed to save some of the furry party flyers from Windycon and Capricon and the like from those days.

I think the big problem is big corporate interest getting preferible treatment over comic book sellers and artists.Lucas and Nickelodeon and WB over small press.Also its gotten too popular for its own good. Its like 135,000 people there or whatever size it is.Its too crowded.I still enjoy going.Ive been there every year since 94.

oh man I wish i had lived in sandiego back then and was a comic book fan back then.It would have been neat to meet Carl Barks or Jack Kirby or other late comic artists.I know my mind was totally blown by how big it was in 94 and compared to now,it was so small then.

yup.. walk in like you belong there and people mostly wont bother you. wasnt gonna wait for 14 hours for a ticket.

14 hours and literally 2 miles of fanclan lines. (SHUDDER) Nowadays you can't even do walk-in registration anymore: SDCC is so bloated that they only accept e-mail reges. Welcome to the 21st century....

Yeah! I was at this event and I really enjoyed it. Kurt Miller telling off color jokes before the show started reminded me a lot of the late night "Vaudeville" acts of the 1920s and 30s I had read about.
