What if they put a campershell on a TRIKE? Something like this I would imagine...I'm surprised there is no listing for pigs in the Species dropdown...

it depends. the actual 4cylinder boxer engine came with displacements up to 2 litres, and some insane people bring it up to 2.7 even. they don't share the same crank housing and gearbox, but it isn't like those parts aren't swapable. :)
VW even constructed an aircooled 6cyl-flat for the T3 transporter, but refrained from it and instead sold the casts and construction to VW tuner, Oettinger, who made something out of it strong enough to push that tin box up to 185 kph. above that the bad aerodynamics make the ride too dangerous...

oh yeah, they are somewhat numerous here still; probably because the prices for classic VW beetles never was too low...
there should be a small number of split-window bugs over there, it wasn't replaced with the oval window until late '52. :)
the car did indeed save Wolfsburg (which was solely built to house the KdF-Wagen workers, and when the brits came in the little city didn't even have canalisation and stuff) and the Volkswagen. the brits decided to have it continued instead of removing the manufacture and machines for reparations.
the Kübelwagen and Schwimmwagen (type 92 and 166) did also save many german soldier's asses during the war. they were reliable, sturdy, easy to repair, and surprisingly good off-road. of what survived saw use in civil hands after the war for many years, which is why so many are still left. some even put hand-made bodies on the 92 chassis... some classic car magazine will bring an article about such a car next issue. ^^
I'm, not that much of a VW nut; I hooked up with Opel and ended up a Fordoholic, but you have to acknowlegde the definition of a classic ride with over 22 millions built over the course of some 70 years...

I'd love to have a 166. use boatramps as shortcuts... I love listening to bug survivor storys, and I have to admit, I am a VW nut. it's what the family had when I was little. so now that I am in my mid 40's, it's what I prefer to drive. simple, easy to fix, parts still available, (the Mexicans and Brazilians did not stop production of the AIR COOLED beetles till 04.) Well, for all those who would Denigrate Henry Ford's product, tell them it means First On Race Day.
Can you help me get little bug accessories? I'll pay cost and shipping....

ouh, there are more than enough dealers out there, but I fear I wouldn't know where to start. maybe contacting a german VW club might help, especially with used or rare pieces. clubs are numerous, too, so maybe I can provide you with adresses.
I would be of more help regarding model cars, really. dunno if those would be cheaper, but used ones from faires and flea markets might be of interest for you.

That's an odd thing that I discovered after joining the local club. Bug fans collect die cast cars. Matchbox or Hot Wheels
or any other brand. I thought it odd, till I met a guy from a different car club, and he said they did the same thing, too.
Any sort of website to a Volkswagen car club would be fine. I am after little things, like the bug shield.
(it's a little chunk of plastic that fits on the hood, (bonnet if you are in England) that allegedly hit the bugs before they splattered on your windshield.) sometimes it's the littlest things that are the most fun. Another example is a little tool kit in a round carrying case that fit inside the spare wheel. you would not believe how much they go for here. heck, the sales brochures go for insane amounts of money here. ($400.00! in some cases) I wonder if I am insane for looking at these things for so much money, but then I look at the edsel fans, the corvette fans, and all the other car buffs and just figure I am right at home....

*laughs* not every one of them collects model cars, but soem do. and I think I am of the more avid ones; my goal is it to provide a sort of overview of all models related to Ford that are, or have been, available. of course I have to leave out all modern 1:18 scale models and many other new entries due to space and budget restrictions, but I think I have a nifty collection ready.
then there are those who indulge in shaping their private life in the period of their desired rides, like the 50's or 60's.
yes, there is no need to worry. XD
said bug shield must be really rare; or maybe german registration restrictions prevent them from having been sold. some laws are simply silly here... but I can look out for a tool kit for the spare wheel. there is a little classic car faire in a couple weeks.
I'll look for links during the week; maybe there is somethign useful for you. ^^

I thibnk I have seen something along that line before. HD made delivery trikes regularly, so why not a camper? egg-shaped aluminium camper bodies are still available out there. ^^
nifty details there. is that some goggles on the sattelite receiver?
plushie on the handle bars, custom mirrors, lots of cushions, and genuine Wolfrace wheels even!
also love:
flag design
his t-shirt
his tattoo
her cup
her pose (nice 'handle')
the general atmosphere. :)
