Hey there folks! That's right, I'm entering the PCA Summer Exams Combat Tournament and I'm sending a teddy bear in to do battle for me. ^_^

Now I pretty much know I don't have too good a shot at this, but I'm entering anyway for a couple reasons. One to just have some fun with it, two to try and improve my art style (and draw something other then Chibi), and three to try and develop Petie a little more as a character... the fact he'll probably wet himself in fear if he ends up going against a senior is just a bonus. X3

So here's his ref sheet with all the basics including how he looks and what he wears, and PLEASE give me your opinion on this, if there's anything on the sheet you like, think needs work, etc, etc, PLEASE tell me... this is my first time doing this kind of thing so any comments or critiques are welcome.

Anyway the following bio is pretty much just parts of Petie's original posted biography cut and pasted so there's not really any new ground there...

Personality: In public Petie plays to his cute and childish looks, acting in a way that makes the little guy as endearing and pleasant as the little sibling you actually LIKE to have around. Unfortunately this is all an act… sort of. In reality he uses his cuteness and his childish act to trick people in to doing things for him and to get away with things… or at least he did. He’s been doing it as long now that acting cute in public has become a natural reflex; he actually has to consciously fight to keep from doing it. When not playing to the cute angle Petie tends to be scheming and tricky, trying to think about how to get an advantage out of any kind of situation, but he’s only about half as clever as he gives himself credit for. He’d like to think he’s ruthless and effective, in reality he actually has a strong conscious and would never be able to do anything that would cause harm to somebody or make them unhappy. In fact he’s been known to lend himself out as a soft fuzzy shoulder to cry on to anyone who seems sad… he’s not even sure himself whether this is caused by his “Cute” persona or not. He does tend to try and act “Cool” whenever he’s able to keep from acting cute… normally it just makes him look foolish or worse yet even cuter. He also has an ego and pride about as fragile as a soap bubble, immediately becoming sad and sulky at the slightest insult or critic, no matter how well meaning or what the comments original intentions were.

History: Born in the hustle and bustle of Saffron City Petie grew up watching his older brother and sister excelling and achieving far beyond all expectations in both studies and strength. His brother is currently a star coordinator on the contest circuit and his eldest sister is studying abroad at one of the worlds foremost technology institutes. Seeing all this convinced young Petie of one thing, if he tried to use his own strength and talents to reach the level his siblings had set he’d surely fail. He knew he didn’t have nearly the raw amounts of skill and talent his siblings had, so he decided he’d have to trick his way to success and manipulate as many people as possible to reach that level. What he didn’t realize was the simple fact his parents didn’t care if he ever reached his older siblings level of success, they merely wanted him to be happy. When Petie was about seven his parents decided that after raising their last two children in the unending hustle and bustle of the big city that it might be best for their youngest to grow up somewhere a little quieter, so they moved from the big city to the somewhat smaller one of Viridian. Petie quickly adapted to living there and soon was back to old habits, whether he really wanted to be or not. While he wasn’t the straight A’s, natural born genius his siblings were he wasn’t a drop out, and he found himself with good enough grades and scores to be able to attend the prestigious PCA… and he’s going to milk this opportunity for all it’s worth.
