Kitol went through a lot during the ultrahive wars, and it left a lasting mark. Going from fresh out of training to a Rockteeth pass, a meatgrinder of a city battle who's cost well surpassed it's worth, and subsequent deployments whittled down his hive's unit to near nothing, the same for the squad he was part of. Nightmares of those he failed to save, his duty as a medic, caused him to go break away from his hive and go rogue shortly after returning back home. But even many years later, he can't bring himself to forget those he fought alongside, the living and the lost.

During the events of the campaign, Kitol was encouraged to get therapy by his girlfriend Trainspotter, to help him come to an accord with the past and accept what happened. Later on, after the HTR team had gain influence from neutralising high profile threats on the Canopy, Kitol was able to get in touch with the survivors of his squad and reach an accord with them as well. With the aid of a smaller ultrahive, he was able to gain access to a tamed predator, Three Stripes, to align himself to Trains' hive, and extend the offer to his squad, in exchange for an unspecified favour to the Neumono Tree.
