Well, its not truly a "Navy" aircraft but who cares, it was a very important plane in the Pacific theater. Everyone knows this plane, made famous by the flying tigers (flying furries! lol) The P-40 was a low altitude air superiority fighter mostly due to the fact that they never decided to put a supercharger in it. If I remember correctly the airframe was capable of much more, but just didn't have the engine.
Still, it didn't stop the volunteer squadron defending the Chinese before the US got involved with the war from having much success against the Japanese. :3
