I don't. The right stick is too sensitive and triggers accidentally all the time.

The problem is you can't turn off buttons. Something must go there. And in some game there isn't a valuable option to switch.

I see it happen all the time, but I've never had the problem myself. I wonder if it's the different ways everyone rests and moves their thumb on the stick? My grip tends to roll around the outside edges of the cap instead of staying in the cup/divot, like pushing up against the bottom and pulling down on the top edge.

I'm guessing you've been playing CoD cause I know that feeling. I also know the feelings of relief that it worked and I got the guy, embarrassment at the fact that it was the final kill and everyone is going to see, and udder joy at the fact that just before I got him at the edge of my screen he did the same thing and missed... and everyone saw it.

I would have to say that L3 and R3 are the worst inventions ever. Who the fuck thought pushing in a thumbstick for a button input was a good idea!? When you WANT them to fire, they don't. When you just wanna use the stick, you get the click way too often. About as lame as Double-Tap To Dash or similar mechanics, they almost never work consistently. I would rather they have added a 3rd shoulder button instead of having you push the thumbsticks in.

Thankfully I'm a PC Gamer and I don't use those sorts of controllers all that often, but every now and then when I do, stuff like this happens and it's just annoying as crap.

Fumbling with "L3/R3 to run" is bad enough, nevermind it being anything useful. It's just so bleeding awkward.

Besides the fact that I'm terrible in PvP-Shooters, I can somewhat relate to that issue. But I'm gaming on Consoles and PC aswell, so I always can choose... okay, mostly. Sometimes there are great Exclusive-Titles >..<
