As it would turn out, Zeelo had not cast a synthesis summoning spell after all. Or perhaps he had but didn't know how to stop his body from gathering wind either when he was done. Either way, by the next day he was a completely normal carbuncle, no traces of his lalafell self remaining. He wasn't even able to speak anymore. As for Calex, he had finally stopped shrinking by the next day, but was only an inch tall. Still, it's not like the dreadwyrm lalafell would let something like that slow him down! And so he found a job to go explore a dungeon for the two of them to do. It should be an easy job and a good chance for the two to get used to their new forms. Calex being Calex, the idea of trying to reverse either the transformation or the shrinking hadn't occurred to him. He just accepted this new reality as he rode his carbuncle friend into the dungeon to explore. Neither spell would ever be undone, but that didn't mean the two weren't going to continue to adventure anyway!
