Holy crap this has bugged me ever since the start of the Disney--wars era. Just like how the movies suddenly started being called "the skywalker saga" out of nowhere, suddenly everyone started calling the B-wing a "bomber" out of nowhere. Which, makes no sense; given that isn't its role. Yes; there ARE more classifications than just "fighter, interceptor, bomber" in terms of small ships: not everything bigger than an X-wing is automatically a bomber.
As the image says: if you need evidence as to why the B-wing isn't a bomber: just think about where its firepower come sfrom, and indeed: what most of its space frame is dedicated to providing optimal firing positions for. In the words of Thomas Anderson: "Guns, lots of guns".
