Meet Captain Clowny and Binky the Big Baby Clown!
Hey all,
Meet Captain Clowny and his eager, young sidekick, Binky the Big Baby Clown! Although if anyone were to look under their masks, they'd be shocked to see their secret identities as Pop-Pop and Junior the Clown! π
Anyone who I've spoken to about Clowning Around knows that a big part of Junior becoming a clown was learning how to play like a little kid. Part of Pop-Pop's approach to teaching him this was by giving him superhero comics to read.
Despite this, Pop-Pop would have never imagined that Junior was so inspired by said comics that he would start drawing doodles of himself and Pop-Pop as caped crusaders. Never one to miss an opportunity to have fun, Pop-Pop showed Mamie Junior's drawings and the next morning, Junior was roused from his crib not by his adoptive father, Pop-Pop, but was instead awoken by Captain Clowny himself.
Eager for a day of adventure, Captain Clowny offered Junior his own costume, and after a quick change (and a not so quick diaper change), Junior was now Binky the Big Baby Clown, ready to patrol his nursery and defend its plushie citizens.
Eventually, Pop-Pop and Junior decided to incorporate the Captain Clowny idea into their act, featuring the two performing an array of aerial acrobatics on the trapeze and tightrope. They were met with rave reviews and they continue to come up with new ideas for the act during Junior's playtime.
---
This was definitely a fun concept to explore, and I have even thought of making it a spinoff with a different continuity from the main Clowning Around storyline, meaning that Mason would not have met Pop-Pop and Mamie at the Clown College, thus he would end up becoming Binky the Big Baby Clown through entirely different means.
