To me, it's just this thinking that Clark Kent wears a pair of briefs underneath his costume, which is literally underwear for his business suit. That's briefs-Superman tights- red briefs- button-up shirt- business jacket in that order. Five layers of clothing, I hope he doesn't have to use the restroom.
