Commentary for August 9, 2020:

In the original version of this story, once again told in Eon’s Comic #127, back in 2003, Knuckles didn’t ask for any explanations, he just was there now and able to help Sonic. Really, the lack of content in the original version was down to it being a single page story and limited to eighteen panels. But in Eon’s World Vol. 1, there are no such limits. I can take as much or as little time as I need to tell the story I want to tell, which is why I’ve so dramatically expanded upon the original source material here. But in spite of all that, I think this chapter may very well be the most true to the original of any chapter in Eon’s World Vol. 1 so far.

Anyway, this is where the original story ended, but this version has another four pages to go yet.
