I have become obsessed with making hot sauce, it is fun you should try it if you are a fan as now your options for hot sauce are literally infinite. The only real tech you need is a powerful blender, after that you just need vinegar and something hot. Best to put the hot thing into the vinegar for a few days to age it then just blend that and whatever else you want and you got sauce.
