So who knows Battle Beasts?
Or Beastformers if you're over in the East?
I've been aware of this old toy series from the 80s for a while now, but never really looked into it past 'oh, they're a group of furries in cybernetic armor or something'. But no, it goes deeper then that: you see, they're pieces in basically a game of elemental rock-paper-scissors (water beats fire, fire beats wood, wood beats water). And the kicker? They're a subset of Transformers.
Yes. Apparently there are Autobot and Decepticon furries that AREN'T from Beast Wars or Transformers: Energon.
So, apparently, the Battle Beasts are on Planet Beast and the Decepticons helped to stage a coup from the Lion Clan, the fair and just rulers of the planet-lead by White Leo up there, who, in the west, they changed his name to PIRATE LION. (Cause 'White' Leo would be offensive, even though that's what he is? XD) They tried to revive them back in 2012, but it seems like it didn't go over well. I also saw the 2012 comic, only 4 issues, but, well, I don't think it helped much.
And, a minor note, I think it's dumb that there's so many good guys, but so few bad guys. Like, I'm not Team Decepticon or anything, but, like, if your heroes outnumber your villains, then that's a problem cause if two kids just want to play 'good guys and bad guys' with their toys, then one kid is just gonna be stuck with less guys. XD
So, anyway, I made a more barbarian take on the Battle Beasts. Cause I really think them being a tumor on the Transformers series does more to hurt them then help them. But, well, I'm not a Japanese Toy Developer, so what do I know?
