The story tells of a dragon named Raki who was always looking for new jewelry for his hoard, but one in particular caused him a huge problem. Raki always went out in the forest in search of new jewelry, looted abandoned houses and unknown caves. The magical world where Raki lived was full of species of all kinds, all of which are unique and beautiful. But the most common was that there were magicians and witches, the only "humans" that existed all had magical powers, it was a completely dangerous world to live in. However Raki was a fierce and scary dragon, no creature would attack him without reason.
One day he found a strange house, with the lights on but no sign of life there, not even during the time he was there. Raki looked around every corner of the house to find any kind of jewelry to steal and take to his cave, and after several minutes of looking in each corner, he noticed a type of shiny crystal hidden under a beautiful sphere, he was fascinated with color and brightness that crystal emitted so he wanted to take only the crystal, in less than minutes he took the crystal and tried to hide it with him to get out as soon as possible, but right when he arrived at the door he came face to face with a witch who happened to be the owner of that house and mainly from that crystal. As soon as she came across it she quickly realized that Raki had something shiny between her paws and soon saw that it was the crystal. The witch said "Uh, not again ... another one thinking that will take my magic crystal away, isn't it? Too bad I won't leave it!" Raki looked at her angrily and did his best to get around her or push her, but as soon as he tried to make any sudden movements, he found himself paralyzed on the floor. The witch looked right into Raki's eyes and said "You only have two choices, or help me for a few years to do certain things around here, or help me find another crystal, if you help me I let you free, or I will have to punish you for stealing my Cristal if you don't want... what do you think?"
Raki ignored it again and tried to leave the house, he even managed to push the witch because she left her magic take off thinking he would accept one of her offers, but just when he left the door he found himself paralyzed again, but now the sensation was stronger. Right after this happened, he heard the witch say something behind him "You really want to do it the hard way, don't you? Dragons never learn" ...
In a few seconds, Raki felt a strange sensation on his body, a feeling of tiredness and heaviness around him, this was caused by the magic she had cast on him. He looked around and saw that his paws were a grayish tone, and fully fixed to the ground, after a while looking around him, Raki began to notice his scales getting heavier and changing to a gray color, as well as your paws. He soon realized he was petrifying and started trying to panic and tried to take flight, but with no success since his body was almost completely fixed to the ground. The stone texture that covered his paws now went up his body, becoming hard and heavy as well like stone, in a few seconds his weight increased a lot, for less than a ton to something around 6 tons, he felt extremely heavy, but at the same time it wasn't a problem considering the fact that this legs was now stone instead of flesh so they could hold the heavy body that Raki had now and the transformation wasn't even complete. Raki at the same time noticed that his body no longer responded to his commands, but he could feel every part that was already petrified. Within less than 10 minutes, almost all of Raki's body was petrified, even his wings, the only place that had not been transformed yet was his neck and head, but soon after his wings completely petrified Raki felt his neck being forced to turn forward, he only managed to look back for a few more seconds, he saw his body completely gray with a polished stone texture, sad and desperate at the same time he tried to fight against the transformation in the last seconds that was available, but nothing worked, the magic forced his neck turning completely forward in a fixed position to match his pose, so the stone texture took over his entire head. Raki's petrification was complete, he felt his whole body, but as much as he tried to go, nothing moved even a millimeter, leaving only the possibility of looking ahead and his vision now had a grey tone, like a color filter, he could see colors but now with that greyish tone.
The witch who was watching the whole transformation laughed and said "Well, you will serve very well as an ornament for my garden, if I am in a good mood one day I can think of freeing you, but I always wanted to have a dragon statue, so don't expect being free soon.. "
After saying that, she moved him using her magic to the center of her garden, in this new position he could see only the path to the entrance of the witch's house, so everyone who comes would see him at first glance and see a beautiful dragon statue, like it was made by someone very professional because the transformation was so realistic that no one will notice any life signs behind that polished stone but an lifeless statue, but inside the stone was a living creature, stuck in this petrified body for a good time. He could feel the air around him and he was cold at the same time, he could see and hear perfectly as before, he didn't breath of course but that wasn't necessary, same with food, his body was calm and didn't feel tired, his position was comfortable.
Raki spent many years in that garden like a simple but well made dragon statue, even vines grew up on his body and some flowers around him, time passed way faster when being a statue he saw everything that happened in front of him, the witch's friends coming every week and other random creatures and animals, it wasn't embarrassing or weird because no noticed he was a living dragon before.
After some time he forgot who he was before, he was a statue now, statues doesn't have to think or do anything else than being a showcase for anyone who passed here. Raki had all memoriesn of course, they were just kept in his mind waiting for the day when he was released to become alive again, all he had in mind for now is that was a dragon, his name was Raki and he had become a statue.
Raki would take a few days to remember everything after being free again but he started to like after a few month being a statue, who wouldn't like to live without any problems and worries, the bad part of this is the fact that he couldn't move a bit, only his eyes behind that stone cover, but no one will notice.
After some years the witch said she was not liking the statue anymore and would soon get a new one, maybe another creature, maybe another dragon. But they were plans for a period of up to 20 years. Perhaps soon he would be released, but it was not known how many years he would still have to spend there.
