It varies I believe but green-cheeks are the quieter of the conures, not at all likes suns. Tiki get's about as loud as a cockatiel and only during certain times of the day (Sunrise and sunset) or when he's trying to get my attention. He's not loud so much as he's noisy if that makes sense.
The ones we had were hitting puberty by the time they were purchased. Do you know how to avoid the mating behavior? He would puff up and rub his cloaca against my hand and I would have to put him back as soon as he started doing it because I didnt want to rehiterate the behavior. He started getting angry/frustrated because I wouldnt handle him as much.
lol Unfortunately there isn't much you can do to stop it, because birds consider the people they live their flock mates and will try and court you just as they would another bird. For starters, whatever you do, keep handling them and taking them out regularly. Birds are very sensitive and keeping them locked in a cage all the time will piss them off and that could cause trust issues. Normally the whole humping thing is just a phase they go through in the spring and they will ease up eventually. The best way to deal with this is everytime they start to mount your hand, quickly move your hand away and firmly tell them "NO". If they continue, put them back in the cage for a while, then take them out later. Avoid sending them mixed signals as well (touching their back, etc).
I know not to touch their lower backs. I still handled the bird and other people would handle the bird too. He became difficult to show customers because he would be protective of me and/or jealous and wouldnt want to see people when I would try to show him off. I had to have other associates show him after a while because he would freak out at other people when I tried to show him. I miss that bird.
