2019 art, another one of those times where I decide to go back and revive an old, forgotten design/concept. People seemed to really like Ziggy Ferret, and it was nice to go back and revise that species design, so I took a look back to see what else was in my old binders full or drawings that hasn't been drawn since the mid-2000s.
(There's actually quite a bit and I might gradually try updating some, if not all, of those concepts as time goes on.)
This one is a Geoterran Meerkat, a species design I drew maybe three times back in 2006/2007. Never really did decide much about them at the time, aside from that they dig, and don't really get along with their hyena neighbors. In typical Geoterra Project style, he has large incisors that hang over his lower lip, and a "natural" yet somewhat unusual stripe pattern, something I was quite fond of adding to my designs at the time to add a bit of visual distinction/interest without going too far into "sparkledog" or "special snowflake" territory.
Also, small horns for no particular reason. They're just cute, and make the design a bit more distinct from real-life meerkats.
This one is the child form, I had considered revising the adult form at some point as well, but reception to this one was lukewarm at best when I originally posted it on DA so I didn't bother doing so at the time.
