Looks like some kinda weathered shale or sandstone but I would have to have a sample of it and my handlens to tell for sure..Looks kinda like it was deposited in river or shoreline. It has nice cross bedding. Are you back from the land of eternal mai ties, sunshine, and ocean?

Afraid I'm still risking a tan out here, just a little while longer and I'll be moving on to the next adventure.. :)

I was angery that my pasty skin seemed to be resistive to tanning period.... not burning either though thankfully except mt face and neck. Hawaii was interesting but not what i expected. It looked alot like California... especialy the brown parts... aT least it was warmer and there were some green bits... oh yea and the active but not exsplosivly so volcano........ checked seeing lava off my bucket list.
