not always..houses on either side are kinda small..parents have been building onto this one for several years

I personly wouldn´t buy a Japanese car cuz I prefer american ones (cars from europe, too but they´re the most expensive -.-) I don´t say that japanese cars ain´t good, they definitely are^^ It´s just my personal opinion^^

It's nice to get a new car, alot of the time it's a must if you don't live near anything store related and if anything should happen to it, it's under warranty so you won't be paying huge repair bills. Unfortunatly my two cars are out of the Warranty period so I have to do all the work myself x3

Yea, I feel you there, all mine have been used and the last two I have actually run better than anything else I had. I wish I could afford a new car, but my '02 P71 Crown Vic and '99 Audi A4 still run with no issues and I wouldn't get much out of them.

Out of curiosity...
The posts holding the roof of the garage... are they dug in? I could not see them put inside the concrete which would make the roof unstable.
Hope you also got damage insurance just in case :)

the carport was only put up last year...the cement has been there a lot longer...the posts are securely bolted into the concrete though

As long as you've planned out your payments, and you have the money, you should be fine on your finances. Why should we laugh at someone who has actually tried to plan ahead instead of going purely by gut instinct and buying before they had a chance to work out the math? It's counter productive if you ask me. And if insurance and car payments are cheaper than what you were paying down on your debt, that leaves money left over to pay down other debt or to save as a safety net, just in case. You deserve to treat yourself once in a while, and since you've planned and thought this out, this is a good treat. Think of it as a way of rewarding yourself for paying off that last bit of debt a couple days or so ago.

As for the car, while I'd prefer a Mustang myself, it's whatever you want. If you like the car, and you can afford to pay the debt on it, you go for it. You have no one else to please but you on this. I hope you like your new car and enjoy it for many years to come.
