The way that Link as a lynel looks here, is reminding me of Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap. xD With the notion that the Sheikah slate has a hidden rune that allows its user to transform into the different creatures and monsters of the world. I would only imagine what would go through a traveler's/travelers' minds when they see a lynel defending them rather than attacking them. lol
Honestly, that would be a pretty interesting mechanic. You'd be able to walk through crowds of monsters and maybe you'd be able to understand and befriend them to help convince them to fight with you but only in the form of that monster. I bet you'd even gain special abilities depending on the monster like for example, for Lizalfos, you'd be able to swim through water much quicker and even do powerful attacks in the water. Maybe, for Lynels, you'd have the ability to charge into enemies and hold bigger and stronger weapons. Ngl though, that would be a pretty cool thing to see in another Zelda game.
