I see. The picture makes it look like the blade is round like an épée when a rapier blade should be flat (and tapered towards both the blade edges).

Alright, I see there is some confusion between Russian and English terms and a lot of English terms for similar-looking weapons. But if you look up épée on Wikipedia, it says it's triangular in cross-section, not round, and neither is rapier. Then I guess it's a shortsword, if Wikipedia is to be believed, which is weird cause I thought they are, well, short swords... I am very confused. But anyway I'll keep calling this toothpick a rapier anyway, though it is indeed round in cross-section and lacks cutting edge, maybe I'll just make its section rectangular in future pictures, I'll think about it.
