So just a fun little warmup doodle as general practice, depicting Sarah after 20 years post awakening.
Sarah would be somewhere around her early 20's so by this point, early 40's which is still actually young adult territory for a drek (who can live upwards of 110 years). Though it's a later stage of young adulthood and here in 6 or 7 years she is going to start noticing her scales graying and charcoaling.
Sarah would likely be amongst the survivors who would found the villages that would eventually form a cultural group of nomadic and stationary tribes known as "The Seattlen" so called as many of the drekir in those tribes originated from Seattle or at least are the descendants of the 1st gen seattle born drekir (which there would be plenty of 2nd gen drekir by this point).
The basket on her neck is an important symbol culturally, those baskets symbolize individuality and independence and serve as a creative outlet for your typical Seattlen drek. Originating as baskets woven for general foraging and gathering they have also become a rite of maturity for growing adolescents, each drek decorates their own basket as they see fit.

Glad you like it!
It's almost always paint as it's hard to make a tattoo visible from under the opaque scales that drekir have. So when ever you see patterns on their scales it's almost always painted on with various forms of paint or dye. Seeing as tattoos are very difficult to do (needling through scales) and aren't typically very visible under the opaque scales
