I unashamedly ripped that title from the commissioner, who is
quincyconnally for this very entertaining depiction of his characters Aidan and James spending time in the country.
It was commissioned as a title image for his story Silk and Amber, which was published last year and he was now allowed to share. So head overy and give it a read :3 (fair warning though, it is explicit)

Err, on the front? :P
Pretty sure given the setting, the clothing style, it's a codpiece.
'Back and in the day' (we're talking human history here) when pants were little more than thick hosiery (chausses (I think pantaloons also qualify)) to protect the legs of those who rode horses, working on the farm, in battle, men got frustrated over accidentally exposing themselves when mounting/dismounting a horse (and other activities) and codpieces were invented.
They buttoned or tied to the stocking supporter/double pendant supporter/hose supporter/garter and at first were simply meant to conceal a man's little man and boys, but given the era (14-18th centuries roughly), the codpiece grew from concealing a man's manhood to showing it off through long, over-sized and/or elaborate codpieces.
They became a symbol of sexual prowess instead of simply a concealment; some of the armored codpieces were ridiculously 'in your face'. Like, "who cares about the 20lb sword I'm swinging at you, fear my 20lb CODPIECE" type ridiculous. Many armored ones were elongated and curved upwards like an erection. Some even had faces on them; no kidding. Funny stuff. :D

I love how you give such great perspectives to your drawings. Its like we're spying from the grass. I like the contrast in their expressions, the fox is so cheerful and the wolf is quietly infatuated with him. Nice colouring and good advert for the story. I promise I am going read it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
