Ittums are turkey-sized scavengers that hang around dirraga settlements. They carry a number of diseases and parasites that dirraga are susceptible to, and their horrible people hands allow them to get into all kinds of trouble. If that wasn't enough they're also noisy, with calls that are terribly similar to the scream of a dirraga in distress. When stressed they can have massive clutches of 30 eggs at a time that hatch out nearly independent young that are ready to breed in 4 months, making population control tricky.

Despite this, they're popular in stories and media as trickster figures and are sometimes kept as pets.

Chirraps are mollusks native to the dakaltre homeworld. Though they've always been minor nuisances, the ecological collapse from global warming allowed them to nearly take over the planet.
When stressed, chirraps have a last-ditch defense mechanism of expelling themselves out of their own exoskeleton in a slimy, utterly foul smelling slug-like form. The strength of their awful odor isn't unlike that of a skunk.
While they carry no harmful diseases or parasites and aren't aggressive at all, they're nonetheless the bane of city existence.
