kurst AMAZING photography
When I have really good expressive reference, I usually try and use it to do something wild- like taking Manimal Characters (Man+Animal=Manimal) and basing them off the poses.
The two most common for me: Logan and Victor, aka Wolverine and Sabretooth.
So considering I was feeling down today, I decided to put work a side a bit and just indulge in happy! And after I found Kurst‘s gallery, I couldn’t resist. I pulled out my portable Animation Desk and had a go.

Now, growing up, my perception of Victor from the comics and the Cartoon show was a little less… “psychopath”- as they love to paint him. He’s alike a giant cat- not exactly social, and little narcissistic... so I grew up loving this guy a LOT like a cuddly giant Cougar/Lion/Sabretooth cat.
Anyways.
Fudged the anatomy- I’m merging both human and animal so it WILL be “off” BOTH types, but I consider these guys “were”s to an extent.
These were the poses that I based the image off of.

P.S. My scanner is SO old it is barely compatible to my new system... and it really killed the scanning process of my images. I’ll have to suffer with this; the lines are too bold and not delicate enough!

i suppose you could call a manimal something like... a fine art translation of a furry XD all I know is that i really like yours(the logan as well!), and I've never liked anybody else's.

I honestly odn't think you suck! You are being too hard on yourself! Not everyone has to draw the same Disney-esque or realism style... make your own and DOMINATE! XD
I dunno if I'd lop it into a "fain art" category, but it sure get my blood going! Hopefully some animaiton of these guys soon- praying I get my other work done on time! XD
