Happened during my last DnD session. Had this loyal samoyed doggo got from another part that was neglecting it and had it for a while. he's just a normal dog so often left him home to be safe. Well after last level up I got access to true polymorph and after some searching through creatures I ended up transforming my doggo Snowball into a couatl, a winged serpent which isn't much of a battle creature but a great companion for a traveler. it has the ability to shape shift so it changed form back into my floofy Snowball form, so now i can take him around with me without worry about him being very squishy.
