Mostly completed... but not quite. I have the removable tongue and a secret pocket to add.. but this is the main idea.
Okay, I started making hats. This is my very first one, so it isn't THAT great, though it is pretty awesome! Tomorrow I finish off the tongue, which will be detachable with little snap fastener things. From what I am planing there will be three different spot in which I can attach the tongue: The middle, and each side. However, I may only make it fasten to the middle.
For the ears I just cut 4 long pieces of fabric, in the shape I wanted for the ears, and sewed 2 together and fliped it inside out. I then seem ripped the hat in order to HAND SEW the ears in. D=
The problem I had was that the fabric was TOO thick for the sewing machine... hopefully I can find a way around this, if not I am going to always have to hand sew the ears in.
For the teeth I just cut out semi-circles, folded 'em in half, sewed 'em, fliped 'em inside out, stuff 'em and carefully sewed them to the INNER HALF of the toque(Canadian word for Beanie... what a silly name for a hat.. beanie... lol HAHAH Sorry.. I just always get a kick out of that word..) I had made the toque double lined so it was extra thick.
The only problem that was really bad for me whas the fact that at the time I was measuring and cutting, I did not have a proper fabric measuring tape.. so I made it an inch too small. Luckily for me fleece stretches!
I really enjoyed making this hat. I am soon moving on to creating one for my sister. It will be a crazy cute blue kitty! XD
We will see how that one goes, then I MIGHT start asking for requests!
Hope you enjoyed seeing it!
Oh yeah.. and my g'ma pointed out that these ears can double as a scarf!
