The rather ironic thing to all this is Deer are normally an uncommon subject for me to photograph and hard to find out in the open. Usually when they appear I'm either not ready, don't have a camera with me, or they are not in the open IE there is a lot of trees and brush between me and them making the shot impossible.
This rare exception was taken, of all places, in my "backyard" off the deck overlooking a valley of a city park. My mother sees wildlife ranging from deer to foxes, and we have a resident male wild turkey which struts around the neighborhood; which I should upload some photos of at some point.
Sadly even from my deck I was a ways away. This was taken with my 250mm lens as I didn't have enough light for the 300 with the 1.4x multiplier. This has also been cropped down quite aways. All things considered, it turned out pretty well.
