A very, very late Sketch a Day May artwork. I did it back then but wanted to add a few things more, like rubble and parts of a dying sand golem modeled after an old god and other details. But looking at it after a few months I came to the conclusion that this would just clutter the composition and I'll keep it clean as it is.

The last fight of the first act of my Ravnica DnD 5e campaign. For people who know the story: This happens some time before the War of the Sparks and my players just found out about a hidden cult who tried to resurrect the old gods of the plane. Cue in a scavenger hunt, chasing after the few leads they found, up to the point they found out the time and location of the resurrection ritual. After heavy fights they got to the place, killed the guards and the leader of the cult, and just when they thought they had finished their job, the cult's leader coughed up... this. An explosion destroyed the roof and a gigantic sand dragon unfolded his wings and told them to die.
They didn't. Oh well.

And that's how the group ruined one of Nicol Bolas' plans to bring unrest to the plane before his invasion. But we know that this isn't his only asset and everything will lead to the huge war I will throw my players into to rescue their plane and save every single one on Ravnica. Fun times!
