The issue is all in translation. He’s named after the actor Bella Lugosi, but it’s pronounced with a Japanese accent and written in... I assume Hiragana or Kanji in the manga. Then that all gets awkwardly translated when it’s released in English. It happens to a lot of character names in anime and manga.

There are a few things that I learned from researching this topic. Lugosi's Hungarian pronunciation is different than in English. The "U" is similar to the word "put," and the "S" is like in the word "Shine."
The manga wrote the character's name in Katakana, which gets used for Non-Chinese loan words and foreign names. The anime's pronunciation is like the Hungarian equivalent, so that's what ultimately led to how it got romanized as Legoshi in the subtitles and pronounced likewise in the English dub.

Poor Legosi, I pitied him in Beaststars but once again oh Mistress of Fursonas, you capture essence. While you created this for your friend I believe this is a very accurate representation of Legosi and his torments both inside and out with this picture. You madam have incredible perception of character to embody deeper meaning whether you intend to or not.
I'm sorry, that was a typo (stupid autocorrect, I swear some days) it should have read "While you created this for representation, I believe..." I don't know where my stupid tablet got "Friend" out of "representation" but regardless I have never known you to fail at capturing deeper meaning in the things you draw; you have a wonderful talent for it and the skill to match it, I think this is going to be my new wallpaper on my CPU.
