M.Q. Witherspoon: Meet the Hunter
Going from the experience of studying the style and reference from Leyendecker and Team Fortress, I then developed a 'class' of character for theoretical inclusion into the game as a playable character. Here's the best concept sketches I managed to work out for The Hunter (Alternatively 'The Explorer')
Aaaaand his character bio:
# Dr. M. Q. Witherspoon. His full name is Milquetoast Quincy Witherspoon, but he'd rather you call him Yes Sir.
WHAT: Dr. Witherspoon is an anthropological Explorer of the 1930s. He has spent the last twenty five years of his career in search of rarities and game all over the world, developing his own style of hand to hand combat and self defense against the fiercest of prey around the world.
WHERE: Upon hearing of his combat prowess and incredible feats of cunning and strength, the U.S. Army has recruited him to train new recruits and to fight on the front lines with his homemade weaponry.
WHY: In his long career of seeking out and dominating every sort of fierce beast he has come against, Dr. Witherspoon's ultimate quest is to discover the perfect quarry. With no challenge left amongst the beasts, he has decided to further hone his skills against the one animal worth challenging: Man.
2. Born into British wealth, Milquetoast Q. Witherspoon lead a heavily educated and sheltered life throughout much of his childhood. His education and upbringing protected him far too much from the distant call of the wild that howled at his soul ever since he looked out of the windows into the endless sky. He knew that he was born to travel and to make his mark upon the world, but his parents managed to convince him otherwise.
Instead of rebelling against his family's educational wishes, M.Q. focused all of his attention and rage into his learning. He excelled at all fields he trained his mind to, and nearly graduated valedictorian at the turn of the century from the Royal Anthropological Institute. His mind was charged with the knowledge of such a vast world, but his frail body was not yet ready to accommodate his intended excursions throughout the world.
Seeing his own weakness in body, M.Q. Witherspoon set out to train himself by hunting exotic beasts around the world. His journeys would take him across the Great Wall to stalk the wild tigers, the heart of Africa to stare down a charging rhino, and even across the oceans to take down grizzly bears and trap jaguar in the wild.
For twenty five years, his journey has been a wandering, stoic endurance test as he bested tougher and more challenging prey. Scars now scribble across his toughened skin, each elegant scrawl hosting a colossal tale of predator and prey, lovingly recalled in minute detail by the only man who could possibly bear to tell each tale. For a simple pint of British beer, he'd be willing to tell you any tale you wish from his visible past.
Now, as the 1930s begin to roll in under the looming thunderhead of distant War, word of M.Q.'s exploits has tipped the ear of the U.S. Army. Upon finally tracking him down, they presented him with an offer that he simply could not pass up. His long career had begun to bore Dr. Witherspoon, and now he was adrift. He had conquered every beast worth conquering, save one. Now, under the shelter of the American Flag, M.Q. Witherspoon is now finally able to pursue his last and ultimate quarry: Man.

Vastly more rugged and less cowardly as another Milquetoast (though the other was a surname, Caspar Milquetoast.) PLEASE tell me that his name is a reference to "The Timid Soul." I'd love you forever if that were the case.
Other than that, that's one hell of a drawing. Commander McBragg would be proud!
