A hypothetical recruitment poster from the backwater colony New Okinawa later in the timeline of my own science fantasy setting, Isolation. The local police force is strapped to the gills and is also very closely connected with the local paramilitary and governmental forces. This is due to constant threats from space based pirate mercenaries, feral populations of lycanthropes from the home system, and giant reptiles not unlike the dinosaurs of ancient Earth.
They also have "uplifted" humans, chosen based on mental fortitude and circumstance to become the greatest defenders of the frontier. The anthroness helps with the uncanny valley effect of being dozens of feet tall. They are actually more akin to combat mechs or terminators than full flesh and blood organics. A kind of hand wavy way to get around the square cube law. What organic parts they do have however are based upon werewolf DNA, giving it high resilience and the ability to heal almost instantly from minor wounds.
