Though the Drakes as a species are magically null, (being unable to either cast or be effected by, magic) they can still call out to their 'Gods' for assistance, whether to smite their enemies, heal allies, or in rare cases, heal another Drake, as even the divine seem to have trouble getting through their magically null state.
