I actually like the shape of the original, and struggled to come up with something new. I chose to make the new version round to emulate a shield and look more like a regular medallion.

Both designs are really cool. I could see both being an actual piece to wear in my collection. They both are super vibrant, while both having a retro or classic vibe. Again the redesign looks straight out of a classic rp book or a page at a chapter start in a book.
The golden one, it took my blind tired butt a moment to see the shadow/reflection, but that is so dang cool. I would have not thought to do that.
