I think if your a non-violent offender in a nicer jail you can get surprisingly comfy accommodations. Basically they incentivize prisoners to be good so they get treats like a tablet (One with restrictions on it i imagine) or a tv. Shit vanishes the second you get in a fight or aggressive with a guard.
