Well, for weapons, they have only two choices: Hand weapons ( an umbrella term for small, one handed weapons) and spears. Holding a shield gives them a better armor save, and if they are holding a hand weapon + shield that save gets even better. However, a spear allows more guys to attack.
Heh. I prefer lizardmen, but skaven are ridiculously fun to play ^^
