Grayscale value study of a reclining female. I’m not happy with the leg anatomy, but it was still a good exercise in shading.

All in all it's very well done. But you are right, the lower part of her leg and paw looks like you just wanted to finish it and move on.
Hell, there am I talking. I wish I could draw a grayscale like this.°)

That is exactly what I was doing with the leg, and the arm behind the back! :) At that point I just wanted to move on with inking & coloring. Didn’t use any photo references for the pose either, so I just sort of winged it from the get go.
