It has been a while since I've feasted my eyes upon some good old fashioned ink work. I like your hatching so far, are you using technical pens? I can see some calligraphic lines in the background on the tree to the right and over his left shoulder, but I think you could really push it further!

If you are going for the classical style, I recommend investing in some copper crow quill nibs and holders, also a good acrylic based ink will work best for colouring overtop with watercolours or something like that without having it run.

Thanks, I am glad you like it, that's what I am thinking too, that it's so old it's refreshing to see again. The second one I am working on I have pushed the textures further, this is relatively half-assed but still a couple of hours of work.

I am using steel nibs and ink, not pens
I have no intention of colouring it, like I said, all classic black ink.

Anyways... Nice job, as usual, and hope there is still room for improvements...
being stuck in one style for too long becomes boring and kills the feeling of joy for drawing stuff.

I think some furries hate them because they are overdone, at least some of the ones I talk to - kind of like Sonic; it's for kids yet adults still obsess over it and draw too much porn for it.

Yes, already the second one improved much already, much finer lines and takes 3 times as long so far, but it's actually fun and I am having a good time drawing it.
