Steel Wings
I have wings.
They aren't flesh and blood, not this time around. Instead they're made of steel, painted Super Red, and powered by a 2.0L straight 4.
RedShift, My 2005 Suzuki Reno LX isn't a car likely to end up on posters adorning the walls of teenagers' bedrooms, and it is certainly marketed as an economy car. With that said however, I am head-over-heels in love with the thing. It's been very reliable and never let me down over two years of use and a lot of miles and long road trips so far. I love the styling of it, I love the red that's so bright it leaves an afterimage, I love the silver stripes down the sides. Even after owning it for two years I still grin each time I come out to the parking lot and see it sitting there waiting for me.
Dragon or not, I think most of us find or search for something that gives us that sense of freedom that flight does. For some it's actually flying, getting a pilot's license and whatnot. For me I think it's driving. Or at least that's one of them. Point being, to me my car is more than just a machine or a tool, it's something I get pretty attached to. So this picture is done in honor and recognition of my love for it.
On a technical note, I can't take full credit for the perspective and all here, as the lines here were traced from a photo. I took the photo myself using a self timer so it's still all my own work, but you know. If you want to call it cheating, that's up to you. I'll just hope you're better than I am at drawing a car freehand and having it turn out decently! Sometimes I'm less interested in making a drawing be a massive groundbreaking journey of self improvement, and more interested in just getting out an image that's in my head.
I'm quite pleased with how my head turned out here, and I didn't trace that! So there. ;)

Always loved the look of the Focus, and started shopping for one when I found my Reno instead actually! I'm afraid mine is an automatic, as it's what I started on and am just beginning to learn to drive a stick. I'm keeping to what I'm comfortable with for now, but I'm learning and am pretty certain my next car will be a manual. I'm getting there. ;) The transmission on this one certainly seems to work perfectly well and behave itself and respond correctly to what I'm wanting it to do, so I can't complain about it.
That's what I've found when trying out a friend's manual. It certainly is a lot to think about and try to get right at first, but I did it for long enough that I could see how with a bit more experience it'd just become instinct and you wouldn't -have- to really be thinking about it.
Pff, so what if your wings aren't the model or type that are on all the car mag covers. Just look at the Fiat 500, or the Renault Clio, you know... *does Jeremy Clarkson's voice* The SuZEWWWki Reenuh is a right proper Mustang compared to those hatchbacks! :)
Until I lost it in a nuclear reactor outflow lake (don't ask, don't ask), my monofin used to give me that same sense of freedom. Easy speed and the feel of it too in water. I love driving free, but I need to move in three dimensions, and I can only fly through fluids dense as me--I mean, dense enough to buoy me up, so water is my thing. ;) Good contrast of blue and red, the car fits you.

Thanks! ^^ Yeah, it feels like your 'flying' is swimming in a lot of ways. That does sound like neat stuff. Driving a car you love just really gives you such a wonderful sense of power and freedom. One thing is sure though. The Suzuki Reno, as pictured here, might just be the most incredibly 'red' car...
