And indeed he does. A Robin pulling his lunch out of the ground. I really liked the composition and "capture the moment" of this shot. However the original image had a LOT of problems. Severe Chromatic abberation, colors were really messed up and mostly there was a really nasty shadow across the bird. The grass itself was also too loud and took away from the center interest.
The image itself however was interesting and very sharp. This is almost a 100% crop as I was not able to get that close to the bird even with a 200mm lens; he was quite a ways away.
So I decided to toy with it and make it into another creative monochrome print like the train. The train is still my favorite for creative works, but this turned out OK. I colored in the word, and took the color away from everything else in the picture except the orange on the robin's chest and between his feathers. But yeah, quite a bit of digital magic went into this. I still refuse to do HDR, but I'll still do some creative things with a single frame, espically if the orignal image has certain problems which are unrecoverable.
