Charley got his hands on a couple bottles of the good stuff.
Never really understood why a lot of booze bottles in old cartoons were labeled "XXX". I thought that was porn... Charley likes that too, though, so it's all good.
(Seriously, though, if anybody knows what the Xs are about let me know.)

The "X" in certain liquors displays the strength of the drink. One X stands for the weakest, while three X's stands for the strongest.
It goes back to the moonshine days when the X's were meant how many times it was mixed. Three X's stands for the most strongest moonshine guaranteed to knock you out of your shoes!
And as for you Charley, if I catch you drunk as a skunk again, it's back to the playpen for you!!

Thanks for explaining that! I've noticed that there are a lot of people who have random knowledge like that, so the comments for a drawing is actually a great place to learn things.
As for Charley, when he's done with those, he won't be very difficult to catch at all--and putting him in a playpen might not be a bad idea. He's always getting into trouble otherwise.

Very true, babies and drunks have a lot in common anyways--lack of bladder and bowel control, barely able to walk, incoherent speech, throwing up randomly, and just passing out wherever. Maybe Charley needs to start filling his baby bottles with liquor to help make his act more convincing!
