The Grey Ore Dragon is the most elusive member of the true dragon family. More reclusive than the Black Darkness Dragons, they spend most of their lives underground, far away from prying eyes. As such, they also lost their wings, as the ability to fly is all but useless underground (at least for such a large creature). Instead, they are excellent diggers and climbers.
Their breath weapon is a pressurized cloud of metallic dust with which they blast the target in a similar fashion to the Yellow Earth Dragon. Much like the latter's "sand breath", the Ore Dragon's metallic breath can literally strip the flesh off of the bones of whatever unlucky creature happens to get in its way.
Personality wise, these dragons are the polar opposite to the Rose Lightning Dragon: they are cold and calculating, foregoing emotional investment all together. It is difficult to relate to their way of thinking, which isn't helped by their hermit-like lifestyle.
Ore Dragons are not picky eaters. Whatever living creature they find in their underground habitat is a potential source of nourishment that can sustain their massive, metal-covered bodies. Whether it's a giant worm, a mycanid or even a cave troll... if it's edible, it's in danger of being eaten by the Ore Dragon .
Though it would be possible to align oneself with a Grey Ore Dragon through the use of cold logic and hard facts, kobolds avoid them as a general rule. To a dragon like this even a kobold is a potential meal. With that and the difficulty in mutual understanding brought on by the cold and emotionless mindset of the Ore Dragon, the small reptilian people would much rather try their chances with a Black Dragon...
This is the eigth drawing in my native dragon series! As well as the last of the "basic ones". Theoretically I could also include the metallic dragons here, but first... I'd have to do my renditions of the ones from DnD (just to be fair). Plus, I wish to take a break from huge dragons at least for a little bit.
