"When in doubt, draw cartoon animals in underwear showing off their butts" -Lord Dominic
2018 art, after faking out all my watchers with a drawing of Satan rising from the depths of Hell or something, I went right back to drawing cartoon animals in underwear. It's kinda my thing.

Indeed he is! Fernando was actually one of my first gay characters! He's been in a relationship with Ricky Silverfang for many years at this point.
For whatever reason, I didn't bother to cross-post much of the older art I have of them together, aside from this one from a time they babysat Manhaar, though. I probably will draw them together again in the future, though, as I do think they make a cute couple.

It's a running joke with my cartoon deer, it's impossible that I'm the one to originate the concept but I've never seen it anywhere else.
Granted, it would probably work on any species, but I think it works best on creatures like deer, that are typically hunted for sport in real life. I suppose the joke would work almost as well with any hunter, marksman or archer character, though. The placement of the target, combined with the fact that both deer I've drawn wearing this regularly are gay, adds a bit more to the joke as well I suppose...
The origin of this joke wasn't actually a real deer character, thought--it was Skunk Boy, before I decided he was a full-on hybrid, and he was just a cosplay dork. I had him running through the woods wearing a deer tail, antlers, and nose, while my grumpy moose character Elijah "hunted" him. I forgot what the context was since that was years ago but I think Elijah was just being mean. Maybe he got annoyed with the skunk dork and decided if he wanted to play that he was an animal, he might as well provide some entertainment?

Oh wow! I never knew the whole bullseye undies joke originated from Skunk Boy. That's a cool backstory piece of info!
I suppose if he's gonna be a dork and run around in the woods acting like a deer, it would make sense someone would get mad that Skunk Boy is actually, most likely, scaring away the actual animals. Thus making Elijah a bit peeved at him. X3 I could see a whole story play out from this!

I have an odd sense of humor...
I don't recall if it started with him being out there dressed like a deer, or if he was forced into that outfit for the amusement of the hunter, but I sorta like your interpretation of events as it actually gives Elijah a reason to be annoyed with him beyond "this fat dork is annoying, so I will go through the effort of subduing him, removing his skunk outfit, putting him in different underwear, giving him a deer tail and antlers (that I mysteriously own), driving him out to the woods, turning him loose, and then chasing him until he gives up or I capture him"--that almost makes Elijah sound like a serial killer of some sort when I actually think about it!
This general concept is what I reworked for that story idea I had about Buck playing with hunters, including a lot of little details that could be included, like a loud fart giving away an otherwise pretty good hiding spot or winding up as the "trophy" in the end--no permanent harm or death of course, only a badly bruised ego and maybe some bumps and scratches from the game.
