Like being swindled out of art. =P Some people are known to wait until the art is done, then take the pics without paying for 'em. By holding onto the final product until payment is made, you ensure no one can do this to you.

Also, since you don't demand the full price right away, before any work is done, you avoid making some customers paranoid. There's been cases of artists who take the money and then either forget or never get around to delivering it. Sometimes it's on accident, and sometimes it's done on purpose.

Your method ensures that neither you nor the customer may cheat each other, since you provide proof that you are working on it, and you hang on to the final product until payment is received.

oh yes, there had few times that I finished the pics but waited for a long time to get the payment.
If I ask people pay first, people may not trust me, so that's why I got this way.

Even if they don't pay me at the end, I won't lost too much time.
So I'll keep using this way. :D

I find this really respectable! There's not that many people I run into that do art first with several checks gone through, and then payment afterwards. That's how I do it myself, and I know maybe one other person that does it. I give you mad props for that. :)
