Almost a full year ago, I posted this announcement picture of me and Zarukh becoming a couple. In that description, an egg was mentioned.
Well, ever since that egg has hatched, and thus gave birth to our sweet little glutton Antares, or Ante for short. Since we both love and connect a lot over science, space and an evergrowing interest for future science and sci-fi it felt reasonable to name our little firstborn after a star. We sat down for a long while, trying to find one that both felt like a good suit for him as well as something personal to us. Antares is red like the eyes of Zarukh, and now our little one has every reason to shoot for the stars - where he belongs.
Carrying him was an experience of its own. He dropped after 2 months which is a long time for me to carry an egg, but after that he took even longer to hatch. It wasn't until January 29th, just days before we moved in together, that he broke his shell. And what a sweet little thing he was. Onyx black, midnight purple and for some reason the brightest orange eyes. The eye colour surprised us as Zar have red and I have blue eyes. Very shy and mama-snug it took a while before he dared to play with my other hatchlings, but one thing marked him out more than anything else: he is quite the glutton. He loves food, especially sweets such as fruits and berries (just like his dad) and is a bit plump and pudgy despite exercising a lot (just like his mom xD). We try to control his intake, but he keeps stealing xD In a way, he came to symbolize the strengthening of our relationship.
This is the first picture we have of him, and I'm so happy to see him come to life Thanks a lot to
dr_artiel for making this one with little visual help and a lot of written instructions. I'm so happy to see our little star~
