this is a wolf spider that i found waiting in ambush in my back yard. I find these all the time(and have been bitten several times by). This one i left alone though because it was carying an egg sack which means it would probably be more defensive.

Looking at the eye arrangement on this girl, she's neither a tarantula or a trap-door spider.
She's a wolf spider. Doesn't look like one of the Geolycosa (burrowing wolf spiders), but it's not uncommon for wolf spiders to hide in holes and retreats, especially when carrying an egg sac.
