Casey looked up at the stars, he wondered his life would have been like if he hadn't been possessed at the age of 17. If he hadn't gone to that stupid party, if he hadn't made friends who was now a killer and a vandalist. The demon lingered over his shoulder, staring at him with a wide, malicious grin, like he was going to do something horrible. Casey kept staring up at the sky, the Sun was still fading and the clouds began to turn pink and purple like in those pastel paintings he saw when he was younger, and it reminded him that life is more than just fearing the unknown or things that go bump in the night. He slowly started to realize how much control he had as an adult now that he's on his own and lives alone. "Well?" the demon snarled, "Why aren't you running away from me?" he asked in a mocking tone, gripping onto Casey's shoulders with his large claws, "I could kill you at any moment, and yet you choose to stare up into the sky? Are you deaf? Can't you hear me?" the demon taunted him more and more, but Casey started to have an idea; there was an open church nearby. He slowly started to get this wide toothy grin, the kind of smile he used to make when he would do something stupid with friends in the past, like sneaking into a movie theatre or going out past curfew. "You know, Cogfell", he said "I've been getting really tired of you... More like sick of you, more than anything." he took a sip of his coffee, then threw it into a nearby trash-bin "And you know what I'm going to do tonight?" his smile widened as he slowly looked back at the demon, slowly walked backwards and opened his arms as if to display himself to him "I'm going to the church and I'm going to go get purified or something, to get rid of you!" Casey turned and walked as Cogfell, the demon who has tormented and whispered evil things to him for 19 years, was at a standstill with Casey Walker, the weird guy down the street, the sleepy guy at the office, the drunkard, and all these other names and titles he has earned thanks to him trying to forget everything that happened at that party in the woods. The demon looked down, staring at his lap, wondering what he did wrong or if there was still time to curse him, soon; he looked up and in his horror and dismay, Casey stepped into the chapel and spoke to The Father. Arrangements had been made for an exorcism, and that they would meet next Thursday.
