A slave all his life, he was bought by an eccentric wizard that stored his spells in tattoos. Naturally he ran out of his own skin after years of study, and took to keeping his spells on the slaves he owned.
Through a quite unlikely series of events, Grimoire, Volume 17 escaped and has since become a mercenary. The old tattoos that are the mark of his former master are slowly being overwritten by new ones.
